Bibim Bap |
 My craze of Korean Drama has made me crazy about their food too .. For Ex. Kimchi , it’s delicacy the more you eat the better is the taste . One dish that always appeared in the drama is Bi Bim Bap .., tried to make the other day , not too bad for beginner.. in fact it’s almost similar with the original one I think .. Recipe from search engine as follows ( I have modified) : Bibim Bap I change the beef to chicken coz we don’t take beef . slices the chicken square – marinated with light soya sauce 1 teaspoon oil and stir-fry until cooked through, 1 minute.
Vegetables 4 fresh shiitake mushrooms, sliced 1 teaspoon oil 4 cups spinach 2 carrots, cut into very thin, long strips 1 1/2 cups soy bean sprouts 1 large zucchini, cut into very thin slices
Cook the mushrooms in the oil and the marinade in a skillet over high heat until tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Set aside.
The spinach, carrots and soy bean sprouts must be blanched in separate pots of boiling water. Blanch the spinach 30 seconds. Drain and squeeze dry. Blanch the carrots, 1 minute; the soybean sprouts, 30 seconds. Cook the zucchini in boiling water until tender, about 3 minutes.
Rice 2 cups short-grain rice
Wash the rice several times in cold water until the water is clear, rubbing the rice well. Drain. Place the rice in a heavy pot; add 3 cups of cold water. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce the heat and steam, covered, until the rice is tender, about 30 minutes.
Sauce 1/4 cup red pepper paste ("kochujang") 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds 2 teaspoons honey 1 teaspoon sesame oil 1 clove garlic, minced
But for the above sauce actually I just bought from Korean store @ Parkway Parade J
Combine the red pepper paste, sesame seeds, honey, oil and garlic in a small bowl. Set aside.
Assembly 1/2 cup bottled kimchi, cut into thin strips 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil 1 teaspoon sesame seeds 1/2 sheet (8-inch-square) nori seaweed, sliced into fine, thin strips 1 half fried egg
To assemble the bibim bap, place the hot cooked rice in a large serving bowl. The vegetables can be at room temperature. Arrange them on top of the rice in separate groups, along with the kimchi.
Sprinkle with the sesame oil and sesame seeds. Arrange the beef on top and a small pile of nori strips at one side. Place the egg in the center. Pass the sauce in a separate bowl. Add this to taste and stir it into the mixture, preferably with a long-handled Korean spoon.
They all Done!
Two servings. Each serving: 637 calories; 1,312 mg sodium; 130 mg cholesterol; 24 grams fat; 5 grams saturated fat; 79 grams carbohydrates; 35 grams protein; 14.77 grams fiber.

Gulai Daun Ubi Kayu |
 Kalau aku pulang ke Indonesia pasti mami masak sayur yg satu ini , gulai daun ubi ( mami blajar dr pembantu dr Jawa kami dulu yg jago masak) Ini resep mamiku “ gulai daun ubi” yg slrrppp deh.. masakan mamiku selalu is the best for me … 2 ikat besar daun ubi , di pilih yg daun muda Tahu (sebanyak yg kita mau ) di potong segi tiga , di goreng setegah masak) Santan kental & santan encer dr 1 buah kelapa. garam secukupnya Bumbu penyedap secukupnya
Ditumbuk halus: 5 buah cabai merah 3 buah cabai rawit 2 buah bawang merah 2 buah bawang putih 1 ibu jari kunyit 1 sdm ebi ( boleh ditambah sedikit jahe juga)
Daun ubi di rebus dalam air mendidih ( masukan seperempat sendok soda kueh ) spy daun ubi tidak menguning sewaktu di rebus , kurang lebih 15 menit ( atau daun sudah agak lembut) , tiriskan dan peras air nya .. di potong2 spy tidak terlalu panjang.
Rebus daun dgn santan encer.. pd saat bersamaan tumis bumbu halus sampai wangi ( tuangi sedikit santan kedlm tumisan) Masukkan kedlm rebusan santan encer dan daun ubi , dikacau2 agar jgn sampai pecah santan . Setelah mendidih , masukkan santan kental . kacau 2. masukkan tahu. Setelah mulai mendidih ,masukkan garam dan bumbu penyedap . Selesai …cocok di temani dgn sambal belachan dan tempe goreng … aduh duh ..pengen buat lagi tapi cari daun ubi kayu di Spore ini ga gampang …. Hik hik |

COMBRO |

I tried combro only when I went to Jakartalast November , my friend Rosni brought me to Mangga Dua . It tasted quite nice .. although not my favorite one but recently I got this sudden craft of having another combro again .. but what to do . how to find combro in Singapore?? again , I have to make it by my self … poor me .. surf Internet again and found 2 combro recipes..I tried to combine with Rosni’s recipes too . here it is :
Inggr. For skin : ½ Kgs Tapioca – Grated ½ coconut – grated Mixed the above , add salt and pepper , can add seasoning too ..
Inggredient for filling : 250 gr Tempe - fried half cooked – finely crush
Finely pounded: 5 ea Onion 3 cloves Garlic 4 x 4 cm Belachan ( shrimp paste?) – optional 6 ea Chilly Padi ( if u like spicy put more if u don’t like it hot put less )
Stir fired above ingr. And add Tempe crushed .. stir fried for approx. 5 minutes . leave it cool.
Take the skin Ingr. .. round it and then press , filled with a pinch of tempe ingr and then cover with skin Ingr. Deep fried till golden brown. Tips to fried : do not fried in very hot oil .. keep the fire moderate or else you’ll burned your COMBRO.
Hmm I ‘m so proud of my self now.. hehe…

Rempeyek Bayam |

I made Spinach cracker Rempeyek Bayam last night , everybody love it . recipe as follows :
1 ikat bayam diambil daun nya saja - Spinach leaves Tepung beras - takarannya secukupnya – Rice flour Santan - coconut milk Air - water Salt
( Mix well above Ingr. & remember the mixture can not be too thin like rempeyek teri kacang but instead make it thicker)
Finely pounded :
4-5 cloves of garlic 2-3 candle nut ( kemiri ) ¼ tsp pepper ¼ tsp coriander
Dip the Spinach leaf in to the mixture and deep fried in the medium fore till a bit golden brown . Ready to serve with chilly sauce …yummy…

Pergedel Jagung |
Pergedel jagung is one of my favourite dishes , so yummy . I just made pergedel jagung yesterday , stay in Spore forced me to master all those Indonesian favourite food .
Recipe as follows : 4 ea large corns -2 ea grated coarsly and 2 ea finely 5 tbs self raising flour 2 tbs tepung beras 1/4 tsp merica 1/2 salt 1 egg half a glass water
Finely pounded : 4 ea red onions 2 ea garlics mix all above ing. well and can add chilli, cerelly as you like .
deep fried 1 spoon each in hot cooking oil till golden brown . ready to served...Labels: Deep fried |

Tahu Kuchai |

Again one of my favorite dish from my mom ... it's fried Tofu actually but the smell of kuchai is really made it fantastic . here is the recipe in bahasa :
4 buah Tahu besar - di potong segi tiga atau sesuai selera
bahan kulit : 5 sdm tepung beras 2 sdm tepung terigu garam secukupnya Telor 1 bh penyedap dan bubuk merica secukupnya air secukupnya , jgnterlalu encer dan jgnterlalu kental semua bahan diatas dicampur dan aduk hingga rata 50 gram kuchai - potong pendek2 - masukkan kedalam adonan tepung .
celupkan tahu kedalam adonan tepung ebelum di goreng kedalam minyak panas hingga ke coklatan . sajikanhangat .... Labels: Deep fried |

Pergedel |

Pergedel , Teman buat makan soto Medan I posted ealier . ibu mertuaku juga sering buat pergedel ala Spore ..tapi ntah kenapa tetap saja pergedel buatan mami serasa lebih nikmat dilidahku .. ini resepnya;
1 kg Kentang - di rebus sampai setengah masak - peel the skin dan deep fried. - lalu di tumbuk halus . - daun seledri & daun bawang secukupnya di cincang - Kuning telor 2 buah - Merica bubuk - 1/2 sdt - pala bubuk 1/4 sdt - garam - bawang goreng semua baham diatas diaduk rata degn kentang tumbuk td di bulat kan .. dan celupkan kedalam putih telur sebelum di goreng .
tambahan , boleh juga di beri ayam , caranya ayam dicincang dan di tumis dengan bawang putih /merah sampai wangi ..masukkan ke campurankentang tadi ..

Soto Medan |

My poor food blog , since busy with all those Korean Dramas I have abandon it for 7-8 months! Btw, My mom is here in Spore and with her I have explore my beloved Indonesian food every Saturday .So far we have made Nasi Lemak ,Soto Medan , Lontong Sayur .. Now I'll post Soto Medan Recipe..I'll post in Bahasa ...
Bahan : santan kental dan santan encer dr satu buah kelapa
Tumbuk Halus : 1 sdt Ketumbar 4 bh Bawang merah 2 siung Bawang putih 1/2 sdt Kunyit Bubuk
Tumis semua bahan diatas bersama : 5 lbr Daun Salam 2 jari Serai - Di Memar
Sampai wangi dan setelah itu dimasukkan santan encer - aduk sampai mendidih Masukkan santan kental , aduk sampai mendidih ( hrs diadukagar tidak pecah santan) . Tambahkan garam secukupnya dan bumbu penyedap ( royco dll) .
sajikan hangat bersama daun seledri cincang dan bawang goreng dan bihun deep fried dan taoge rebus . Soto medan biasanya ditemani dgn ayam goreng ( disuir ) atau udang goreng tepung serta Pergedel.

Clay's Birthday |
Clay's 2nd birthday last night .. pheww.. I was very busy in the kitchen preparing all the meals.
I made, Pasta, garlic bread, fries, taco , lagsana , bake potatoes, salad and chicken fillet ..
As planed before I made a soccer court cake for him , base cake using SACHER Torte ..not bad ..
